There is currently a national shortage of blood bottes used to collect blood samples.
Due to this Bedfordshire Hospital, who process our blood samples and provide our blood bottles, have asked that we prioritise blood tests and delay routine tests. You may therefore find that we have limited blood test appointments over the next few weeks and you are asked to go on a waiting list.
Bedfordshire Hospital have also announced that they will not be taking bookings for routine blood tests from the 6th September until further notice.
Whilst this matter is outside our control we appreciate that this is going to be frustrating for our patients and apologise for the delay and inconvenience this interruption in services will cause.
