New Appointment System
Demand for our services has increased considerably over the last 2 years and we appreciate that many of you have told us that you struggle to book an appointment. We have listened to your feedback and investigated alternative appointment systems.
We are pleased to announce that from Thursday 26th January we are changing how you can book an appointment, or make a medical enquiry or administrative request, with the Practice. This is via a new online system similar to that used by other local GP practices, called total patient triage. With this system requests that may need an appointment with a GP or Minor Illness clinician will be passed to the Duty GP for review, whether you contact the practice online, via telephone or in person.
The aim of this is to direct appointments to the right clinician and keep administrative tasks and queries outside of the appointment system. This should free up and prioritise appointments. We hope that this will help improve your access to our services, and allow us to best utilise our resources to provide appointments and advice.
How to request an appointment or make a medical or administrative enquiry Our new online request form can be found via the green tile on the Practice website called Patient Triage or via this link Florey (accurx.com) This service will be available during working hours from 8.00 am onwards starting from Thursday, 26 January 2023.
This online form can be used instead of visiting the surgery or calling us, particularly in the morning when our telephone lines are very busy. You will be able to explain the nature of your problem or enquiry and request how you would prefer to be seen. No password or login is required but we will need you to verify your details and telephone number. If you find it difficult to use an online form our Reception Team can offer assistance or you can ask a trusted carer, relative or friend. If you need an appointment then our Duty GP will organise for you to be offered one with an appropriate member of the clinical team. The surgery will send you a text message or call you to organise this appointment.
A Request to our Patients
This is a new system for all of us. A lot of consideration has gone into planning this, but we expect that there may be some teething problems and that demand for our appointments will remain high. We kindly ask that you be patient and considerate to our staff as we move to a new system.
